¿Qué es una criptomoneda? ¿Cómo funciona el mundo del trading? ¿De verdad compartimos planeta con gente que pronuncia palabras como «memecoin»? En el documental Bull Run Ana Ramón Rubio (directora y guionista) y Juanjo Moscardó (productor) nos responden a algunas de estas preguntas, además de hacer un retrato del panorama crypto que empezó su despegue durante la pandemia. Hace unos días, gracias a Bloguionistas, nos colamos en la casa del productor para hablar con ambos sobre Bull Run y el último corto guionizado por ellos (y que estuvo nominado a los últimos Premios Goya): Una terapia de mierda.
Uno de los mayores aciertos de Bull Run es el de tomarle el pulso a la perfección al mundo que lleva a la pantalla. Con una narrativa marcadamente divulgativa en torno al mundo de las criptomonedas y toda la subcultura que empezaron a generar hace unos años, el documental cuenta, no sólo curiosidades y aspectos clave del mundo, sino el cómico viaje de su directora y guionista a través del trading.

«Yo quería animar a la gente a que escribiera más documentales usando la comedia, porque parece que no estás siendo serio o no estás profundizando y es todo lo contrario. Nos estamos dando cuenta sobre todo con el cortometraje [Una terapia de mierda] que la gente se está planteando muchísimas mas cosas al verlo […] Y en Bull Run lo mismo, creo que no hubiera llegado tan bien el mensaje si hubiéramos echado la chapa».

Incluso si, como a mí, palabras como «crypto», «trading» o «blockchain» te generan cierta desconfianza, Bull Run es un buen visionado para entender mejor los motivos que empujan a la gente a ese mundo. De manera bastante hábil, Ana Ramón Rubio es capaz de transmitir su entusiasmo por las criptomonedas sin convertir el documental en un ejercicio de proselitismo, dando lugar a una obra no sólo divertida, sino también interesante y con un buen arco emocional.
